It was for a university project and won’t be updated. Have a look at this one.

Tick, tick and tick

Tick, tick and tick

You know that feeling right after you vomit? That intense feeling of relief?
Thats how i’m feeling RIGHT NOW. Portfolio, it may well be finished.

Les Savy Fav, 7 years ahead of them, minus vocals.

This is what i’ve put together so far in InDesign.

Some elements, I really like. Overall, I don’t have a problem with the layout, I just feel it’s not really ‘me’ and is a bit run of the mill. It doesn’t have the layering that i’ve achieved in my previous journals or concept boards… Trying to figure out how to make the page ‘come alive’, mind - the layered effect I like can be a difficult thing to do with digital formats (i’ve struggled with this in photoshop too, but eventually MANAGED to overcome it)…

Back to the drawing board.

The shoot went really really really really well… Going through pictures to find the creme de la creme.

Photoshoot tomorrow

UUUUHHHHHHHhooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Arghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

EEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!

YYYYAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!

In the thick of it now. Garments are ALMOST finished! Not sure if i’ll ever be able to face an overlocker or twin needle machine again in my life…
Actually, i’m surprisingly happy with how these have turned out - aside from the leggings, which i’ve decided to not include. I had made a sample of the garment without the piping and it didn’t look right at all, and with it the garment looked resolved ON the body, but wouldn’t sit correctly off.. Gillian was right about piping not being a stretch technique. However, I did use elastic cord later in the process, it improved the garment slightly however not enough for my satisfaction. Unfortunately, the design had to be turfed - I also have to meet deadlines if I want to have my portfolio printed as a photobook - therefore, I need to do a photo shoot of these garments as well as have time with inDesign for my portfolio. Deadlines, deadlines…
On a happier note though, the other garments look fantastic, better than I could have expected. I imagine i’ll end up wearing the top quite a bit…

I’ve started jotting down some ideas about how the photo shoot, which is in a week now. I want it to be quite clean and easy. Simple shots (I dabble slightly in photography, but like to keep it easy with these things). I’m getting my beautiful buddy Aimee to model and will direct her to imagine herself as a ‘baby swan’. That is, ahem, beautiful but a bit awkward. This all ties into my concept ‘A New Balance’, which as i’ve previously discussed is about learning to feel comfortable again, adjustment and a yearning for simplicity and happiness, but learning that this can only be achieved through perseverance.
